Food Access Work Group works with community advocates, city, county, and state staff and elected officials to improve healthy food access in all communities.

Join the work group meetings to hear about local, state, federal policy updates while learning about exciting work being done across the metro. You'll have the opportunities to share your success stories and network with food advocates. The group meets quarterly and everyone is welcome to attend!

Q1 meeting agenda includes:

  • policy updates (KS food sales tax and more!)
  • federal policy: overview of Child Nutrition Reauthorization and USDA's proposed rule related to SNAP
  • discussions on challenges and opportunities
    • Greater KC Food Policy Coalition is underway in its effort to develop short and long term policy agenda for 2019 and beyond and we need your help.
  • round-table group updates
  • small group discussions/networking

Attend the Food Access Work Group meetings if you are:
